Where We Live, Work, Learn and Play Matters
-- Florida Capital Region
The Florida Capital Region of the USGBC Florida Chapter includes Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon and Wakulla Counties. Cities within the Region's territory include Tallahassee, Quincy and Monticello. Tallahassee is the capital of the State of Florida, the largest city in the northwest Florida region, and the 126th largest city in the USA. As capital city, Tallahassee is home to the Florida State Capitol, Supreme Court of Florida, Florida Governor's Mansion, and nearly 30 state agency headquarters.
The Florida Capital Region (formerly the USGBC Florida Capital Region Chapter) has been in existence since 2007. Our members, past and present, have a longstanding and rich regional commitment to creating and restoring buildings and communities that will regenerate and sustain the health and vitality of all life within a generation. The Region's volunteer family is engaged in nearly every major green initiative in the Region, bringing not only their professional career experience, but also USGBC Florida and USGBC National resources and best management practices in sustainability in the built environment to all aspects of the design/build/manage cycle.
The USGBC Florida Capital Region prides itself on being inclusive for local industries, businesses and organizations. Together, our volunteers and members strive to create a greener region that truly celebrates the culture, history and environment of our spaces, inside and out, and the people who design, build and use them. Our tools are the USGBC's -- education, outreach and advocacy.
