About Us

Welcome! The Keys Branch's volunteers' activities include educational programs, instructive tours of green facilities, GREENworking events, helping municipalities and school districts with their green and community initiatives, co-sponsorship of green conferences and events, collaborating with other like-minded organizations... and much more! Show more...

Our Branch has educated local government officials and CEOs about sustainability, brought in high-profile speakers for important panel discussions, worked with children and educators to teach green principles, sponsored study sessions for prospective LEED APs and GAs, and teamed with local organizations to further green and sustainable initiatives to benefit local communities. The Keys Branch also worked with the City of Key West Commission to adopt a Building Permit Allocation System (BPAS) Ordinance codifying the competitive application process requirements for residential development in the city, an ordinance that required, as a prerequisite for application eligibility, that all new residential development and redevelopment constituting more than 50% of the value of the structure, enabled through a BPAS allocation, be LEED Certified or certified FGBC Bronze.
