This is a self-reporting series. You will receive a certificate of attendance yet you need to self-report your own continuing education credits to GBCI, etc.

This module is designed to introduce participants to the rather complex concepts of Green Power and Carbon offsets, as well as the carbon marketplace. Due in part to increases in global warming and energy production’s role in it, carbon reduction has become a hot button for many businesses and governments worldwide. Specific examples are offered to help explain how to navigate this LEED credit within multiple rating systems. At the end of the module, participants will be able to decide if Green Power is something worth pursuing for the future.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Global Warming and energy production’s role in it
  • Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) and other Green Power, including their role in certification requirements for LEED
  • Understanding the voluntary procurement of Green Power and Carbon Offsets for LEED
  • Reviewing Green Power Case Studies to help you understand the application of these products in LEED
  • LEED BD+C, O+M, and ID+C credits for Green Power and Carbon Offsets
