Mark your calendars to join USGBC Central Florida for a special tour of the Emeril Lagasse Kitchen House & Culinary Garden, including a cooking demonstration by the head Chef!
The Kitchen House is a joint venture between Florida Hospital for Children, Orlando Junior Academy and the Emeril Lagasse Foundation. It supports OJA's Edible Education Experience -- a program providing education, gardening and cooking skills to the school's pupils -- and is the first of its kind in the country built specifically to give children a seed-to-plate education.
The builder of this project is Rob Smith, Manager/Owner of e2 Homes LLC, and the project rater is Nate Ritter, Director of Sustainability at GreenBuilt Solutions, LLC.
Participants will tour the Kitchen House, garden grounds, and participate in a cooking demonstration with the head Chef. Learn how this outstanding Orlando collaboration is changing people’s lives by connecting them to the pleasure of growing and preparing food, as well as eating and sharing it, and building family and community in the garden and at the table.
