USGBC South Florida's Broward Branch is proud to support the City of Miramar's Earth Day celebration, which is bringing together environmental stewards, enthusiasts, educators, experts, students and policy makers to celebrate this special day.
The event, to be held at 3700 Largo Drive in Miramar will include a variety of activities and exhibitors, including: a Pop-Up Café with tastings from Trader Joes, National Wildlife Federation, University of Florida’s Master Gardeners, Miramar Community Garden, a goat and chicken zone, Broward Butterfly Society, Feeding South Florida, Slow Food,
This is a FREE event on Saturday, April 22 from 11:30am-3:00pm. There will be raffles and giveaways such as reusable bags, water saving tools, water-closet rebates, healthy tastings, vegetables, infused teas, and much more!
Additionally, participants will be “chopping to the beat” at the Miramar Disco Soup and turning ugly veggies into a delicious meal under the choreography of Chef Anthony from Rayfield and Chef Anthony from Exquisite Bites. Disco Soups are being held around the world to promote awareness about food waste. A Lexicon of Sustainability exhibit will showcase key components of a vibrant local food system. Master Gardeners will be available to answer gardening questions and a tour of the gardens will be offered.
