Southeast Florida Regional Climate Action Plan Open Session

USGBC Florida is proud to join a host of other concerned organizations and cities promoting the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Action Plan Open Session.

The Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact invites you to help shape Southeast Florida's Regional Climate Action Plan (RCAP) during next week's public comment session. With your help, the Compact hopes to strengthen and improve this document so it can continue to serve the residents of Southeast Florida.

You're invited to the attend the open session on April 27, the first event of an intensive public process to update the RCAP. RSVP below to help ensure the plan is modified in ways relevant and valuable to all communities in the region. This session is open throughout the day, so drop by when you can and stay for as long as you'd like.

Note that draft recommendations will be sent out for review only to those who have registered beforehand.

Unable to attend? There are plenty of other ways to stay involved.

  • April 24 - May 12: The first draft of the RCAP 2.0 will be published online for public feedback and comments. Be on the lookout for an online comment form coming next week.
  • May - June: Expert teams will meet to review and incorporate public and municipal comments, developing a next draft of the RCAP 2.0.
  • June: The updated draft will be posted for a second round of public comments.
  • August: The expert teams will reconvene to review and incorporate the second round of public comments into the RCAP 2.0.
  • September - November: The Compact Steering Committee will review the expert teams' recommendations for final approval, and the final RCAP 2.0 document will be written and designed.
  • December 14-15: The final version of RCAP 2.0 will be released at the 9th Annual Southeast Florida Regional Climate Leadership Summit in Ft. Lauderdale.
