What does sustainability mean for building operators, and how do we easily incorporate this focus?

The LEED for Existing Buildings Rating System is one method for identifying, implementing, and tracking progress toward sustainability goals using a points-based system to quantify performance. This presentation will address the opportunity to utilize this green building rating system to improve the operation and maintenance of buildings, while often generating strong ROIs. From Retro-commissioning, to food purchases, to green cleaning, attendees will learn about the broad range of metrics associated with certification, along with project case studies detailing implementation success stories.

Join us for a session intended to clear up the confusion revolving around the green movement, and allow building managers to meet expectations revolving around sustainability, while quantifying success in numerous areas. The financial pro-forma for implementation of this program will be shared as well.

  1. Provide guidance to prospective owners, facility managers or others interested in LEED for Existing Buildings Operations & Maintenance (LEED-EBOM) Certification and define the impacts and challenges associated with implementing LEED-EBOM.
  2. Realize how the pursuit of LEED-EBOM certification can allow an Owner understand the actual operating performance of their facility after its initial occupancy, while identifying opportunities to improve energy performance using retro-commissioning and an energy assessment.
  3. Define the optimum approach for implementing a LEED-EBOM project, including engagement of the key team members in the certification process.
  4. Review a project case study highlighting sustainable project features and identifying costs and savings.
