Join us for a tour of the UNF Skinner Jones Hall Building. This special opportunity, led by the design team and contractor, will highlight the complete renovation of the existing 60,000 gsf Skinner-Jones Hall and a 51,500 gsf addition. The project will house Classrooms, Teaching Labs, Research Labs, Administrative & Faculty Offices and Support Space for the College of Computing, Engineering & Construction, Mathematics, Social Work, Writing Center, Nurse Anesthetist, Office of Research & Sponsored Programs and Student Conduct.

Sustainability Features Include:

  • Pursuing LEED certification
  • Green Cleaning Policy, Integrated Pest Management Policy, reduced mercury content in lamps, high waste diversion
  • First building on UNF with 100% LED lighting
  • Laboratories for state-of-the-art electron microscopes for use by Materials Science and Engineering Research Facility (MSERF)
  • Each laboratory is on its own independent floating slab.
  • Specific laboratory air, electrical and data requirements including a standalone LAN system for the MSERF
  • Integration of occupancy sensors, controls, and HVAC
  • Adjustments to design to meet the requirements in ASHRAE 90.1 (2010) Section 8.4.2 required by the Florida Building Code 5th Edition (2014) – Energy Conservation Edition C405.7
