USGBC Florida is proud to publicize the excellent education and LEED-specific CE opportunities offered by TLC Engineering for Architecture tied to the firm's annual GreenWeek. To learn more and register for the webinars, see below.

October 9-13 is TLC’s sixth annual GreenWeek! This year's focus is on timely topics that include updates on rating systems LEED v4, BREEAM and Fitwel, as well as the benefits of Living Walls and data (including what to meter and how to manage the date input).

Lunchtime presentations will include nationally recognized thought leaders speaking on timely sustainability topics. Sessions will be hosted in TLC offices and broadcast through GoToWebinar for remote participants. Each GreenWeek session is approved for 1 AIA / PE CEU credits and may be self-reported for LEED Specialty CE hours through GBCI. To receive AIA and FBPE credit, you must submit your full name, company, email address and AIA/PE license number on a roster provided at each session.​

For in-person attendees, lunch begins at 11:30am (EDT). Programs start promptly at noon (EDT) each day and conclude in one hour. Please RSVP by Friday, September 29, 2017. ​

Monday, October 9: “What’s Your Sign? - Exploring Sustainable Building Rating Systems”

Session will provide challenges / best practices associated with targeting LEED v4 and BREEAM certification, as well as background on development of BREEAM.  Multi-building owner will address use of prototype to manage standards, process and branding. Explanation of how BREEAM has been adapted specifically for the American market.​​​

​Wednesday, October 11: “Air, Water & Light - Health & Wellness Day” - Tech Talk on ASHRAE 62

A growing body of evidence links the design of our built environment to choices that impact health. Healthier buildings benefit employee wellness and promoting wellness improves employee productivity. This session will provide an overview of the Fitwel certification program and highlight how designers, real estate owners, facility managers, and developers can positively impact building occupant health and productivity by making Fitwel’s recommended improvements to workplace design and policies. Healthy building designs often include living walls for both aesthetic and physical environment enhancements. The benefits, as well as the design and construction considerations for living wall biofilters will be discussed.​​​

Friday, October 13: "Get SMART" - Tech Talk on Metering and Verification - Big Data / Artificial Intelligence 

Space ... the final frontier, or is it? Building occupants are demanding new and innovative ways to create efficiencies and opportunities in the work place. During the presentation, we will discuss some of the aspects. Cities are also focused on the future -- and how to be smarter. Smart city principles will be discussed, as well as how they relate to sustainability and how the two correlate.
