Best of Greenbuild Webcast: Energy in LEED today and tomorrow

  • In 2018, USGBC Florida plans to host at least two webcasts a month and half-day CE webcast days each quarter totaling approximately 36 webcasts in all. Each of these webcasts would offer LEED GBCI and AIA continuing education credits. We are looking for a partner in helping us increase the attendance and advance sustainability knowledge in professional practitioners through online education. Cost is $2,500. Partnership benefits include:
    - Logo listed on supporter and web-based education webpage with link and paragraph with company description*
    - Logo displayed in the two eblasts a month to USGBC Florida’s statewide 20,000+ database and many social media posts
    - Logo and name on program/event registration page
    - Logo on all marketing collateral (e.g., flyers, social media posts)
    - Welcome/Closing Slides with logo and description of sustainability program, goals, successes and/or plan
    - Ten complimentary seats for Northrup Grumman employees (using a promo code provided)
    - Acknowledgement of USGBC Florida Chapter partnership on your marketing materials

Discussions about the water-energy nexus have reignited conversations about energy impacts and consumption. Presenters will use real-world examples to show how unique building and space types have successfully implemented and documented their energy impacts and performance. During this session, we will delve into how LEED addresses energy today through LEED v4 and through pilot credits and also take a look towards how today's trending topics, like the water-energy nexus impact LEED's future goals. Intermediate level.

  • Provide an overview of how LEED v4 addresses energy in all rating systems - LEED BD+C, ID+C, O+M, ND and Homes - and related credits.
  • Review different strategies for achieving the LEED v4 energy-related credit across all LEED rating systems.
  • Review real world examples of how LEED energy-related credits and strategies have been applied.
  • Discuss the future of energy issues, solutions and strategies and the impact they have on the development of future LEED credits and pilot credits.

  • 1 AIA LU/HSW (USGBC Florida reports if your AIA # is on file)
